Shipping Policies

Muskingum University Bookstore is proud to offer you the most competitive shipping rates. All of our shipments are professionally packed to ensure the safety of your items in route.

On average, your order will be received in 7 - 10 working days. During August or December, delivery time may take longer. Although we generally ship our merchandise by UPS, we may choose another carrier such as the U.S. Postal Service or FedEx in order to save you shipping costs or to expedite delivery to you.

Returns

We are confident that you will enjoy our products. So confident that if you are not completely satisfied, you may return items purchased within 14 days after you receive your order and receive a full refund. All items must be returned in the original condition. If the return is due to our error, shipping charges will be refunded. Please note that textbooks (new and used) have a separate returns policy, which is found on the textbook order page.

Packing list and receipt must be included with each return. Returns missing this information can not be credited. If the return is due to our error all shipping charges will be refunded to the original credit card or account used for payment.

Include the packing slip and receipt (receipt can be reprinted on the order history page) with your return. Repackage your item(s) in the original packaging or in an appropriate cardboard box. Using packing material (e.g. Styrofoam peanuts, bubble wrap, etc) around your item(s), pack and tape your package securely. Select a carrier that offers you the option to insure and track your package. UPS, FedEx, and USPS all offer this option. Insuring and tracking your package protects you as the shipper and helps ensure your shipment goes to the correct destination in the same condition it was as when you sent it. Write down your tracking number and keep it until Muskingum University Bookstore has refunded your money. Ship your return to the following address:

Arrange for a carrier to pick up your package or drop it off with the carrier. Shipping is the responsibility of the customer and is not refundable, unless due to our error. No credit is given for lost or damaged packages in route to Muskingum University Bookstore. Please insure and track your package. Returns to Muskingum University Bookstore will be refunded to the original credit card or account used for payment unless a different payment option was selected. A refund will be posted to your credit card or account once your return is received and processed. Processing times for returns vary, and may take up to 30 days from the day the return is received for a credit to be transmitted to your credit card or account. It normally takes 2-10 business days for financial institutions to process the transmitted credit request.

Refund Policies

Textbook Refunds

Undergraduate and graduate textbooks may be returned for a full refund or exchange until the end of the add/drop periodBooks purchased for courses lasting 2 weeks or less may be returned only on the first day of class.  After the add/drop period, textbooks are nonrefundable, except for students who withdraw within 4 weeks of the start of the undergraduate term (within 2 weeks of the start of the graduate term).  Proof of withdrawal  is required for refund.

The original receipt and student ID card are required for all refunds or exchanges.

New books must be in new condition without marks or highlights inside or outside.  Covers and pages must not be bent or damaged.

Wrapped books must be sealed in the original packaging.  Packaged books, CDs, and disks must not be opened.  Publisher labels must not be removed.

Credit card purchases will be refunded to the same credit card.  Muskie Bucks purchases will be refunded to the Muskie Bucks account.  Cash and check purchases will be refunded in cash.

Please return defective books as quickly as possible for a replacement.  New books will be replaced with new books, used books will be replaced with used books whenever possible.

Unsold textbooks may be returned to the publisher after the 6th week of  the undergraduate term (2 weeks after the graduate term).  In order to ensure availability, all textbooks should be purchased prior to the end of the 5th week of class.

Merchandise Refunds (non textbook)

Merchandise may be returned for a refund or exchange within 14 days of purchase date if accompanied by the original receipt.  Merchandise must be in new, resalable condition.  Pre-packaged items must be unopened and in original packaging.  Defective merchandise will be exchanged.  Clearance merchandise is not returnable.

An original sales receipt is required for all textbook and merchandise returns.
